+ MID CENTURY INTERIOR
An open layout mid century inspired design for a family of three. The most important components were hosting and entertaining guests and creating a child friendly space. With this open layout, I utilizing minimal ornamentation, because of their concerns of 'stuff being everywhere' and inspired the design from favoring of mid century styles. I kept materials kid/spill friendly and maintained a timeless color palette.

+ LIVING SPACE
Because this family has a toddler and likely more on the way, it was important to use child friendly furniture and materials. Dark fabric, plastic, and rounded soft materials. Storage and seating were accommodated with storage furniture and additional seating for hosting.

+DINING AREA
Given that entertaining is important to the family I used max seating for the space and a buffet for hosting dinnerware. Lighting was limited in this space and I accommodated by using fixtures that give off ample light. To spice up the area, I suggested a tile on the floor, adding some character and color while maximizing the size of the space (given that the ceiling was lower in this room compared to the living area.
